About the Author

Trent Cucchiarelli is a fantasy and science fiction author from Adelaide, Australia. Growing up in the golden age of Saturday morning cartoons and cinematic epics, his imagination was forged by He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Star Wars, Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, and The Lord of the Rings.

His writing draws inspiration from the literary complexity of Gene Wolfe’s The Book of the New Sun, the psychological intrigue of 12 Monkeys, and a lifelong fascination with time travel—especially when it’s imperfect, unpredictable, and dangerously misunderstood.

With The Dark Epoch, his debut novel, he set out to craft a fantasy saga that subverts tropes, values the reader’s time, and resonates long after the final page. Its magic system is rooted in emotion and mental strength rather than brute force—highlighting introspection, memory, and identity as the battlegrounds of true power.

He is currently working on the next story set within the world of The Dark Epoch.
